Thank you to all those (152) who came to the celebration of Beryl's life I was very moved by your support. Thanks too to your prayers, I was able to speak my own tribute which is what I wanted to do.
Our good friend Major Andrew Spivey did a great service, the DC read the bible and we watched a photographic tribute to Beryl. Obviously her life has made a great impression on so many. Even during the last few years when she lost the ability to speak her smile was so beautiful and revealed her heart to us all.
I miss her so much - please continue to hold me up in your prayers.
God bless - Billy
Thursday 27 December 2012
Today was the funeral and celebration of the life of my precious son Kevin. I love him and miss him deeply. I was heartenned and touched by the 170 friends and family who gathered in the hall to say 'bye for now'. The comments on facebook all express their love for Kevin and said what a gracious kind and thoughtful person he was. Thanks to all your prayers, I was able to say my own tribute to a good lad.
Whilst it hurts I have this assurance that Kevin is with the Lord he loved and reunited with his lovely daughter Victoria who he only had the joy of holding in his arms for 7 days before she died.
Thanks to Andrew and Valerie Spivey who graciously led the services at both the hall and Rawdon.
Thank you too for all for your kind thoughts and prayers
Second update Saturday
It is with a heavy heart I have to tell you that my lovely son died at 7.15 tonight ( Sat) Beryl and I held his hand as he passed away. Tony and Catherine, along with Steven were also by his bedside supporting Judy. Beryl, bless her doesnt know what has happenned due to her alzheimers. please pray for us all - we need it. Christmas will be difficult this year. The DC's Bill and Gill Heeley have graciously stepped in to do the Sunday morning meeting. The carol service in the evening will be tough but I will be there to lead it.
The first operation took 15 hours as they found severe problems plus. He was then taken back to the ward until 7pm when they felt they needed to do a second op which took a further 6 hours.
Request from Billy
This morning ( Thursday)I was given the terrible news that my eldest son Kevin had been taken to the BRI Hospital with a suspected heart attack.
I rushed to see him there and after X Rays and a CT Scan he was sent to the LGI where at this very moment ( Friday 2.41 am) they are performing a 6 hour emergency open heart operation on him. If this is successful he will be put in a comatised state until Saturday and recovery will take at least another 7 days. Obviously I am devastated. My daughter Catherine and my other son Steven are at the hospital with Kevin’s wife Judy and will stay until Kevin is brought back from surgery which could be around 5 am. Please pray for us - thank you and God bless Billy
Please pray that God will heal Kevin and comfort and strengthen Judy and the rest of our family. The situation is made worse by the fact that Kevin is in the same hospital that his daughter Victoria died in exactly 11 years ago today.
The hall was packed ( 190) for the Celebration Service for the life of Ray on Monday 26 November following a private family service at Nab Wood.
Thankfully we know that as Christians, if we love Jesus and live a life of obedience to Him, He promised to come and live within us here on earth with the assurance that one day we will go to live with Him in Glory.
Ray has moved on to meet with the Saviour he loved. Our prayers are with his family, the Corps family and his many friends who will feel pain and sadness at this time that our Father will bring His Peace and take care of us all during the days that follow. love Billy
